John Capek is a composer, arranger, keyboardist, producer. John Capek was born in Prague, Czech Republic, the son of a concert pianist and his wife, a survivor of Auschwitz. Capek moved with his family to Melbourne, Australia at the age of three. Capek studied piano as a child and then later, influenced by Little Richard, Ray Charles and Chuck Berry, co-founded Carson, one of Australia's premier blues bands.

John Capek was born in Prague, Czech Republic, the son of a concert pianist and his wife, a survivor of Auschwitz. As a session musician, he recorded with legendary producers Humberto Gatica and John Boylan. As John Capek & The Family of Man, he released his debut recording, Indaba (Mesa Blue Moon). He co-wrote much of the 1984 album One Foot in Front of Australian singer John Paul Young (famous of "Love Is in the Air"). Returning to Toronto in 1995 John continued writing for Stewart, as well as for Cher, Amanda Marshall, Bonnie Raitt amongst others and also scored the television series "Grandpa's Garden" and "Letters to God".

Capek relocated with his family members to Melbourne, Australia at age three. Capek studied piano mainly because a child and later, influenced simply by Small Richard, Ray Charles and Chuck Berry, co-founded Carson, among Australia's leading blues rings.

Composer, arranger, keyboardist, producer, b Prague, Czechoslovakia, 26 Nov 1946; Chemical Engineering Diploma (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) 1971. The son of a concert pianist and his wife who survived Auschwitz, John Capek moved with his parents to Melbourne, Australia, at three. He studied piano as a child and, influenced by Little Richard, Ray Charles, and Chuck Berry, played with local rock bands in his teens. In 1970 he co-founded The Carson County Band, which (as Carson) became one of Australia's most popular blues bands. In 1991, under the name John Capek & The Family of Man, he released his debut recording, Indaba (Mesa Blue Moon). He returned to Toronto in 1995 and continued writing music for Stewart, Cher, Amanda Marshall, Bonnie Raitt, and others. In 2002 he produced UK-based group The Alice Band.

The Family of Man is made up of 503 photographs by 273 artists, from 68 countries, brought together by Edward Steichen for the New York Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Presented for the first time in 1955, the exhibition was meant as a manifesto for peace and the fundamental equality of mankind via the humanist photography of the post-war years. Images by artists such as Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Dorothea Lange, Robert Doisneau, August Sander and Ansel Adams were staged in a modernist and spectacular manner

He has become best known for his science fiction, including his novel War with the Newts (1936) and play . Rossum's Universal Robots, 1920), which introduced the word robot. He also wrote many politically charged works dealing with the social turmoil of his time
